In 2014, Epta installed its first CO2 transcritical system in a Simply store in Bilbao, Spain.In 2017 the EPTA Group launched a Full Transcritical Efficiency (FTE) solution for improving the efficiency of CO2 refrigeration systems in warmer climates. The system is based on a basic CO2 booster system. Testing carried out over a two-year period in Italy demonstrated that systems are capable of delivering a stable efficiency gain of around 10%.
